December 2020: Apps Gone Live

We are kicking off the new year by looking back at some of the last apps the STQRY team helped launch in 2020. From New York’s Staten Island to Australia’s Victoria Park, we are fortunate to work with clients located across the globe!

‎Staten Island African American History

The Staten Island African American history spans from the arrival of the Dutch and the first enslaved Africans during the colonial era through the present day. African Americans struggled through enslavement, quests for freedom via the Underground Railroad, and attempts of forced African colonization.

Experience Staten Island’s African American history on site or by virtual tour. This app allows you to experience the depth and breadth of NYC's most southern borough, where you will discover the many untold stories of Staten Island's rich African American past.

The app has a driving tour that follows the routes used through Staten Island for the Underground Railroad and provides information about over 100 individuals or places that highlight Staten Island's African American heritage. The app also has a portal for users to make a donation to the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society.

Walk in the Park

Introducing a Walk in the Park. The Town of Victoria Park in Western Australia enlisted the help of our developers to create a free walking tour app with stops along the streets to provide insight into the many interesting locations. This app brings forward the stories, memories, and history of the park as you walk.

Once you arrive at a stop on the tour, you can use the Walk in the Park app to view and listen to more information about each of these locations.
