The Rutland Sculpture Trail honors Rutland’s regional history and is planned through collaboration with the Carving Studio and Sculpture Center, Vermont Quarries, MFK Properties, and Green Mountain Power. The Marble Quest tour is filled with hidden clues, maps, and directions that lead to hidden “treasures.” Along the trail, there are many gems of human and natural history to be uncovered.
The Eureka Stockade played an important role in the development of Australia’s democracy. Thousands of refugees from political oppression, economic disaster and famine came to the Victorian goldfields in the 1850s with hope for a better life. In 1854, the gold miners revolted resulting in a democratic government.
The team at Eureka Australia partnered with the team at STQRY to share the stories of the prelude and aftermath of the historic battle. The app includes an introduction and Melbourne Eureka Democracy Walk. Learn about the main sites where the people of Melbourne demonstrated their opposition to the oppression that took place on the goldfields around Ballarat.
